Good Games For Bridal Shower
Good Games For Bridal Shower
Good games for bridal shower parties should have simple rules. Choose games that test common knowledge of popular culture or of the bride and groom. Games that require memorization, listening, or creative thinking can also be nice choices for entertainment as well.
Knowledge Testing Games
If you’ve decided to host a co-ed bridal shower, ask the bride-to-be to leave the room for a few minutes while you ask the groom-to-be a few personal questions in front of the rest of the guests. Start off with some tame ones like “What was your first pet?” or “Where did you go to high school?” You can move onto some more interesting territory like “What is your bride-to-be’s sexist outfit?” or “Where is the most public place you’ve gotten a little flirtatious with each other?”
If the couple’s parents are guests, keep the questions a little less provocative. Ask each guest to guess how many of the questions the bride is going to get right then bring her out to share those answers so you can find out how well she knows her future husband.
For none co-ed weddings, do the same thing but ask the groom the questions ahead of time or use the maid of honor instead of the groom. You could also have the bride’s mother doing the guessing. Just be creative and you’ll see why these are good games for bridal shower parties.
Fill In The Blank Fun
Another example of good games for bridal shower gatherings is this one but you’ll have to be creative and be ready for almost anything! You’re probably familiar with Mad Libs – those cute stories for kids full of blanks for adjectives, nouns, and other specific types of words needed to complete the story. For kids, it helps them learn the parts of speech and creative some hilarious and nonsensical tales. For adults, things can get pretty unique.
Create your own version of one of these stories based on the honeymoon of the bride and groom. Make sure to leave plenty of blanks and to label those blanks appropriately. Besides the standard parts of speech, consider adding body parts, names of people, numbers, or locations. Remember use your imagination. During the party, ask guests to write down the words for the blanks but don’t show them the story.
When they’ve written down the words, reveal the story and have each guest read it with their own words used in the blanks. Some won’t make any sense but others might get pretty adult, even accidentally.
Memory And Listening Game
Most good games for bridal shower events should also help break the ice among the people in attendance since many of them won’t know each other. Here’s an idea that can help.
Do an introduction game. Have the guests form a circle. Start with you, say your name and a fact about yourself, then move to the next person who must add her own information AND remember what you said. The third person must remember the information for both of you, plus add her own. These good games for bridal shower parties can work for almost any size party and will leave the guests dazzled by your hosting skills.
